Who we are...??

We are the year 2004 pass-out batch students of Mechanical Engineering of Park College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. We happen to be the last batch of Engineering students of Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore. As usual we, THE MECH were the brats and also the rulers of our college. Our class guy got the overall performer award, which was well deserved by the batch itself. After those wonderful years in the cocoon of College, we stepped out to face the real world. It was not as fun and cool as the college was.

The first blow was the realisation that we were certainly not job-ready. Our folks were expecting us to walk into a company and come back with an appointment letter for the job of 'Engineer'. The relatives think, 'He will do good in his life, for he has done Engineering'. One's village reflects all its pride, envy and expectations on us. But we and the Engineering fraternity was the only people knowing the fact that we were 'yet another engineer'. To top it all, we had to part with our best buddies.

The journey after the college life has been in doldrums. During the journey, our voice has been tremulous. We ourselves were doubtful on every basic things we believed. We doubted ourselves. But as one persists in his performance during the uncertainties, we were able to evolve out of the maze designed to pull down the unexpecting 'yet another engineer'.

Today, we can say with certain degree of confidence that we have settled in our life. Along the sense of satisfaction comes the anger towards the unknown. We are no losers' to keep it as anger and hurt ourselves. We have transformed that anger into a sense of responsiveness towards the next-gen. Today, we all are responsible to make sure that next-gen doesn't feel the same betrayal, anger and disappointment towards the society which we feel today. Yes, that is a responsibility of every single individual in every sphere of life.

With this thought and the well spread network of the die-hard Mech '04, we have decided to contribute back to the society in an organised way. We are using the same title of MECHMEANUNITY which was framed to keep us united as 'yet another alumni batch'. Today, we are breaking the shackles of 'yet another' and striving towards becoming the 'marauders' who turned into the 'Enlighteners'.
